So over 70% of African American voters in California voted down same-sex marriage. Boo, them gays and lesbians are outraged and they said they're just getting started. Over the last four days same-sex marriage rallies have popped up all over the state of California. I mean really who is the government to tell you who to marry. Religion and sexual orientation is a personal choice; the government needs to fall back.

By the way, I don't understand why African Americans voted same-sex marriage down. You know if it weren't for them gay choir director church would not be as fun. Don't Front! You may think that's it's an ignorant comment but tell me it's not true.

The email printout of the documentation, which appears at the end of this report, was obtained from the Florida Department Of Law Enforcement (FDLE) by paying the $24 fee and searching here [https://www2.fdle.state.fl.us/cchinet/] in the FDLE"s criminal history database for Algernod Washington.

The 32-year-old was arrested for the first time at the age of 29 on April 12, 2006 for the misdemeanor charge of resisting an officer without violence.

Elizabeth Gets Emotional Again!!!

So this morning on The View the women discussed the N-Word and of course, outspoken and sometimes naive Elizabeth Hasselback puts her two cents in about the topic...bad idea (sometimes we just need to shut our mouths and this was a good time to start.) Anyways, first, Elizabeth asked when it is acceptable for people to use this word (Girl, never, you are Caucasian!) Sherri Shepherd butts in says she uses it the word and no one can stop her. And of course in classic Hasselback fashion she finds a way to bring her children into every conversation. tries and prove her point by saying, Well, how do you explain this to children?" (Girl, this is not about your kids...you're the one with the question!) In short, Whoopi served Hasselback up one hell of a rebuttal that left Elizabeth in tears.

Newest Honorary member of Alpha Kappa Sorority Incroporated

On Monday, July 14, 2008, theYBF.com reported that Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated had extended an invitation to Senator Barack Obama's wife, Michelle Obama, as a honorary member of the organization. The presidential hopeful's wife will be accepting the title as honorary member at the organization 100th year celebration in Washington D.C. On Tuesday, Michelle Obama also announced that she signed a "non-exclusive" contract with the organization allowing her to not only be a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha but any other historically black sorority.

Police Get Out of Hand!!!

Two police officers pull over a bus to tackle a gay Black woman for flipping them the bird. I thought it was a free country...since when did flipping people off equate to being physical harassed and public humiliated? It's one thing to be Black while dealing with police but she was black and gay...that a double whammy. We all need to pray for her. Don't you just love the criminal justice system, they punish you even you didn't do anything.

Tyler Perry's The Family That Preys

OK, everyone Tyler Perry is coming out with a new movie, "The Family That Preys" (no I did not spell prays wrong it is preys.) I don't know what Mr. Perry has got up his selves but I am very interested in what this movie is all about. Looks like he traded in a couple of his bad actors for some veterans. This movie may actually earn so acclaim outside of the Black community! I'm not knocking Mr. Perry I love that he is doing what he loves whiles actually promoting positive Black images but his movies really suffered from some bad acting and bad sequencing.

The new movie features: Kathy Bates, Alfre Woodard, Sanaa Lathan, Robin Givens (that's definitely a blast from the past), Rockmond Dunbar, Taraji Henson and of course Tyler Perry.

Italian Vogue Goes All Black

It's about time the world figured out that Black beauties do it best. Black models are exotica, intriguing and absolutely stunning that why the July 2008 issue of Italia Vogue is featuring all black models. Even the New York Times did a huge feature piece on the groundbreaking event and people are searching high and low for the issue.

Unfortunately, all that banter has left local Barnes & Nobles answers demands for the issue and even three weeks after the issue hit news stand all over the world, people are still awaiting copies. Those who were able to nab one of the first copies saw the likes of Jourdan Dunn, Naomi Campbell, Tyra Banks and even Tocarra!

Although, this was the first all-Black issue, it didn't live up to what it should have. Instead of tastefully portraits and glamorous shots of Black beauties, the issue was plastered with tactless shots of Naomi and hypersexual images of Tocarra. The idea of an all-Black issue would lead one to believe that every complexion would be represent but yet again the fashion world has let us down by leaving out the chocolate beauties instead opting a latte to caramel complexion models. "The other side of the pond" has let Blacks down once again. First, Paris puts Josephine Baker on stage topless with a banana skirt now, they put Naomi in Vogue topless with high-waisted pants.
It was just another example of the fashion industry exploiting African American models.

2008 ESSENCE MUSIC FESTIVAL

Black Stars came out to enjoy the music in New Orleans but it all came to a close Sunday

Roland Martin, Bill Cosby and the unofficial ambassadors of the festival were in attendance, Tom Joyner and his wife, Donna Richardson.
Solange (Baby B) was there promoting her new album.
Patti's legs are on point. Black don't crack or sag! lol!

Patti LaBelle performed with both, Chrisette Michelle and LaBelle.


Philly was well represented...Jill Scott graced the stage.
And Musiq Soulchild did his thing, too.

Keyshia Cole was there too...hopefully her performance was better than the BET Awards.
Matthew Knowles is not playing...he is now managing Trinitee 5:7 and Lyfe Jennings.

I really like Malaak and Chric Rock but who in the world sat that wig on Malaak's head like that. She looks like a Black Dolly Parton; next time let's just stick with that ole' slick back into a ponytail.


Mary J. Blige put on a great performance, of course! But Mary 's outfit look like a throwback from the Mary album. It s tipping the scale on tacky... the snakeskin boots. I still love ya, Mary!Estelle was trying to be glam.


Raheem DeVaughn serenaded the crowd with his hits.


Avant and Rapheal Saadiq were there too. And Darrin Henson popped out of no where. Bet you ten dollars he was poppin' and lockin' all over the place. lol! Even Dwele was there in his stunna shades.


















And it just wouldn't be the Essence Music Festival without Frankie Beverly featuring Maze and Morris Day and The Time.
