Newest Hood Anthem: "Yep, That's Me"- Jamie Foxx ft. T.I. and Soulja Boy

My Nine Cents:

I heard this song and all I could think of was images of cloned Shenaenae-wannabes swinging their dookie braids in unison at the club. And I love T.I. but he lost all credibility with me once he said, "like some pigs...oink, oink" WTF? Jamie even dedicates a verse to his chickenhead fans to shake those dreads, don their fake Louis Vutton, Coach and red bottoms... to let their haters know they ball on a budget. All he needed to add was "where all my Maxxista at?" Although, it clearly perpetuates ignorance I will probably be do a two-step and boycott the lyrics in the middle of the club. *arms crossed on the dance floor*

Jennifer Hudson moves Oprah Winfrey at Kennedy Center Honors

My Nine Cents:

If it isn't already evident I would like to be the first to say that Jennifer Hudson is officially our generations Marian Anderson. Although, her voice carries the heavy gospel influence and can sometimes be perceived as raw she effortlessly captivates audiences regardless of musical preference. Above is a video of Jennifer Hudson serenading Oprah Winfrey with Fantasia hit song "I'm Here" that was featured in the Broadway production of The Color Purple.
